December’s here! December’s here!
I don’t know about you, but pretty much for this entire month all I want to do is check out and stuff my face with every kind of cookie imaginable, washed down with eggnog.
… But that wouldn’t be very smart of me. Because December is the month of opportunity for small business owners. Yes, even service-based business owners like travel agents.
The spirit of giving is in the air — and there’s no reason why you can’t get in on that jolly giving and gifting spirit yourself.
In fact, there’s every reason why you should.
Here are three ways you can show love to your list this season — and get a little love (and hopefully some consultation calls!) in return:
3 Easy Holiday Marketing Ideas for Travel Agents
1. Promote travel as the best gift of all. This could be the theme for an e-newsletter, or you could even design a whole social media campaign around the idea — perhaps sharing one reason why travel is such a great gift each day leading up to Christmas. Need proof? A study has actually shown that experiences — not possessions — make us happier. Check out the write up in The Atlantic here.
2. Riffing off the above, remind your audience of travel lovers that they can work with you to make their loved ones’ holiday dreams come true. And your fans don’t have to have a whole trip planned as a holiday surprise. Send out an email or two to your list announcing that you’re offering special gift cards for purchase toward a trip this holiday season!
3. Consider how you’ll share the love with your list this season. What can you “gift” them to show your appreciation? Maybe it’s X amount off your planning fee if they reach out by the end of December. Maybe it’s sending your list a special opt-in offer you created, like an in-depth destination report or guide. If you do this, just remember to send them the link to the guide itself and not the sign up page, since they’re already on your list!
Most people get a little busier during the holiday season, so as biz owners we have to try harder to stand out. Implementing a holiday-themed marketing campaign is a great way to do that, and it means you get to spread some joy to your own clients!
