It’s January, my friends.
The time when you make resolutions, buy all the planners, and pump yourself up for your BEST.YEAR.YET.
And I believe you can do it!
But …. If your resolutions include finally sending out an e-newsletter, finally blogging, finally getting and staying active on social media, finally growing your list with an opt-in offer/IFO …
I’m afraid you’re going to get burnt out before we even make it out of the winter doldrums.
Because that’s a lot of content.
And there’s only one of you.
Math may not be my strong suit, but even I know that just doesn’t add up.
Which, frankly, is the pits—because in order for your content to be effective, it has to work together as part of a system.
(For example, sending out an e-newsletter won’t help you grow your business if you’re not actively promoting it on social media and elsewhere to increase your list of subscribers).
Luckily, there is a content strategy you can use to ensure you’re not spreading yourself thinner than raspberry jam.
It’s the strategy I’ve used in the past two years in my own business.
A strategy that has helped me grow my email list by 300% in 2018 alone.
Inspired by the freezing January temps (it’s actually a mild 50 degrees here in DC, but just roll with it …) I dubbed this strategy: The Snowball Effect.
Introducing: The Snowball Effect—How Travel Agents Can Plan Their Content the Smart Way
Here’s how it works: You spend most of your time and energy on creating one foundational piece of content. For me, that’s my weekly e-newsletter.
Then, you re-use that content in a bunch of other formats to make it really work hard for you.
You don’t have to reinvent the content wheel for every medium!
For example, after I send out my e-newsletter, I copy the content and turn it into a blog post. Then I take sections of that content and turn it into captions for my social media posts.
I even spring off of my e-newsletter topics to create my opt-in offers (aka IFOs), expanding on something I first explored in my e-newsletter.
One of my goals in 2019 is to do more Facebook Lives, and I plan on using my e-newsletters as rough scripts.
So yes, it might sound exhausting to an outsider that I’m producing an e-newsletter and a blog post every week, plus social media posts and opt-in offers (yes, I have way more than one …) and FB Live segments.
But I’m only pouring my heart and soul into my e-newsletters … and everything else snowballs out from that.
The Snowball Effect in action.
So, I encourage you to kick your content into high gear this year—by doing it the easy way.
Pick your foundational content. Maybe it’s blogging, or e-newsletters, or creating videos or FB Lives.
And then build all your content around that.
My 2019 mantra? Never start from scratch.
It’s the only way to stay consistent with all that content.
Announcement: New year, new you, new training
Intrigued by The Snowball Effect? I explore it in a lot more depth in my shiny new on-demand training: The Content Planning Masterclass.
Originally, I had reserved this training for some of my Website Roadmap students.
But it got a really good response (like, “I feel like I can FINALLY start sending my e-newsletter weekly!” response), so I wanted to share it with all of you.
It’s 2.5 hours of video training designed to help you plan out your content for an entire quarter—that’s 3 whole months.
We get into the nitty gritty of blogging, e-newsletters, and social media. (Because one doesn’t really work without the others!).
So if you’re ready to make 2019 your year to get in front of your audience in a BIG way, grow your list, and get more dream travel clients …
… without burning out just weeks into your content resolutions …
